La scorsa notte hanno avuto luogo i Game Awards 2015, evento a carattere videoludico ideato e realizzato da Geoff Keighley per premiare i titoli, le software house e, in generale, personalità che lavorano nel mondo dei videogame, più meritevoli di questo 2015. A farla da padrone è stato l’ultimo titolo del team polacco CD Projekt Red, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, che è riuscito a conquistare ben più di un titolo.
Oltre alle premiazioni, l’evento ha accolto ospiti del calibro di Shaq O’Neal, Mark Hamill, Deadmau5 e Stefanie Joosten – la sexy Quiet di Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – la quale ha omaggiato l’assenza di Hideo Kojima con la melodiosa “Quiet’s Theme”, cantata sul palco del Microsoft Theater.
Un piccolo spazio è stato dedicato anche alla celebrazione della memoria di Satoru Iwata, ex Presidente di Nintendo, deceduto l’estate scorsa a causa di un male incurabile. Sul palco è salito Reggie Fils-Aime, Presidente di Nintendo of America, che ha speso due parole di cordoglio per il collega e amico ormai defunto.
Sono stati anche mostrati alcuni trailer in anteprima mondiale, tra cui spiccano quello di Uncharted 4, Quantum Break, Far Cry Primal e Psychonauts 2.
