A pochissime ore dall’annuncio di Android L al Google I/O 2014, HTC ha già diramato un annuncio in cui dichiara che gli aggiornamenti per HTC One M7 e HTC One M8 arriveranno 90 giorni dopo l’uscita di Android L per la gamma Nexus: un’ottima cosa, soprattutto per i possessori di HTC One M7, visto che HTC non è nuova ad abbandonare i device senza aggiornamenti, si veda ad esempio il caso di HTC One S. Il problema in questo caso è uno solo: quando esce Android L?
Secondo quanto detto da Google al Google I/O dovrebbe uscire nell’autunno di quest’anno, per i dispositivi Nexus, per cui ci si aspetta un aggiornamento dei device HTC entro la fine del 2014 o l’inizio del 2015, ritardi compresi.
Di seguito il comunicato di HTC, dove viene specificato che gli altri device della serie One saranno aggiornati poco dopo l’update di HTC One M7 e M8:
