Alla ricerca di un nuovo lettore USB 3.0, ho acquistato da Amazon.it un lettore Transcend RDF8, al costo di circa 20€ nella versione bianca e di circa 23€ nella versione nera.

RDF8 è dotato di un totale di quattro slot, una per schede CF, una per SDHC/SDXC, una per M2/microSD ed una per MS PRO/XC/MS DUO.

E’ in grado di supportare i più recenti formati, inclusi quelli UHS-1 delle schede SDHC e SDXC, le tecnologie UDMA6/UDMA7 delle CF e le MSXC.

In omaggio abbiamo poi la possibilità di scaricare gratuitamente il RecoveRx tool, per il ripristino di macchine fotografiche cancellate erroneamente.

Caratteristiche principali

– Interfaccia USB 3.0 SuperSpeed (compatibile anche con l’interfaccia USB 2.0).
– Supporto schede SDHC e SDXC UHS-1, CF UDMA6/UDMA7 e MSXC.
– Trasferimento immagini in alta risoluzione e registrazioni video più rapido ed efficiente.

Per verificare la bontà del prodotto, ho effettuato dei test con il software H2testw v1.4; di seguito i risultati:

Come si può vedere, la velocità di trasferimento è da due alle tre volte quella del lettore USB 2.0 interno.
